' Rangers have an affinity for open country and wilderness, but as independent scouts and militia, they are opportunists, not stewards of nature. They exploit every advantage of their environment, and can lure wild beasts to attack their foes. Many rangers are more at home in the wilds than in civilization, to the point where animals consider them kin. United in focus, beast and ranger work as one to fight the monstrous foes that threaten civilization and the wilderness alike. '
 ACTIVE ABILITIES
» COMPANION'S BOND - The Beastmaster's companion obeys their orders as best it can. If the Ranger is incapacitated or absent then the beast acts on its own. It acts to do what it can to protect the Ranger it is bonded to, but will carry out their orders with everything that it can should the worst occur. » TRUE BOND - ( upgrade ). Familiar with one another, beast and master are a well oiled and perfected team. When fighting together they have a greater level of strength and stamina, relying on one another to carry each other through the battle. The beast is able to attack with greater ferocity thanks to the trust built between itself and its master. » COORDINATED ATTACK - Beastmaster and companion are a more potent fighting team. During a battle they can attack a target together and form a devastating partnership; when attacking the same target their attacks are more focussed and deal more damage.
» BESTIAL FURY - The beast companion goes into a frenzy during battle, dealing devastating damage to their target. The amount of damage the beast can do is increased, but it loses control of itself and cannot command the orders of its master during this period, leaving it more vulnerable to attack and damage.
PASSIVE ABILITIES
» SHARED TERRAIN - Through time spent with their animal companion, the Beastmaster is more adept at handling their natural terrain (dependant upon what animal they have as their companion). For example, a bear companion might give more support in forests while a snow leopard would offer the same for mountains. Tofa's shared terrain would be woodlands.
» HIDE IN PLAIN SIGHT - ( upgrade ). Familiar with the terrain of their animal companion and natural habitant, the Beastmaster can use this to their advantage. By doing so they are able to move more stealthily through familiar terrain (e.g. forests/mountains) and can remain motionless to blend in with their surroundings, offering more stealth. » FAVOURED ENEMY - Familiarity with nature allows for the Beastmaster to be more adept at hunting and killing particular kinds of enemies. They are more adept at the study of their favoured enemy, as well as tracking, hunting and scavenging from their enemy. Tofa's favoured enemy would be beasts, e.g. bears, wolves, large cats, etc.
» NATURAL EXPLORER - The Beastmaster has adapted to survive, granting benefits based on their survival tactics; they are more adapt in difficult terrain, find it easier to navigate in the wilderness, are more alert to danger and are adept at tracking and foraging. This is easier in terrain they are more accustomed to (e.g. they do not have the same skills in a forest if they are more accustomed to a mountainside) and they are still only human and limited to human tolerances.
» SHARED TERRAIN - Mastery of terrain and the support of an animal companion allows the Beastmaster to have a link to the world around them. They are better able to communicate with their beast and others of their kind through gestures and and sounds, able to learn intent and mood. This can aid in learning if the beast is healthy, if they are prepared to attack and if they are willing to abandon a fight if necessary. |
